What Pinleads does
Pinleads is a Chrome extension that reads publicly visible business information from Google Maps search result pages while you browse. It collects data that is already displayed on the page — business name, phone number, website URL, category, and review count — and lets you export that data as a CSV file.
Data I collect
Pinleads collects only the following data from Google Maps pages you visit while the extension is active:
• Business name
• Phone number (where publicly listed)
• Website URL (where publicly listed)
• Business category
• Review count and average rating
This data comes directly from what Google Maps displays publicly. Pinleads does not access any private data, login sessions, personal accounts, or information behind any authentication wall.
How data is stored
All scraped data is stored locally in your browser using the Chrome storage API (chrome.storage.local). It never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it as a CSV file.
Pro license keys are also stored locally in chrome.storage.local. They are sent to the validation endpoint (buildifyapp.in/api/validate-key) only when you click "Activate" — solely to verify that the key is valid. Your key is never stored on the server.
Data I do not collect
Pinleads does not collect:
• Your name, email, or any personal information
• Browsing history outside of Google Maps
• Any data from websites other than google.com/maps
• Payment information (payments are handled entirely by the payment processor)
• Analytics or usage telemetry
Third-party services
Pinleads communicates with one external service:
• buildifyapp.in/api/validate-key — used only for Pro license key validation. When you activate a Pro key, your key is sent to this endpoint to confirm it is valid. The endpoint returns a true/false response. No other data is sent.
No analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking pixels are used.
Permissions used
Pinleads requests the following Chrome permissions:
• activeTab — to read the Google Maps page currently open in your browser
• storage — to save scraped leads and your Pro license key locally on your device
• tabs — to open Google Maps when you click the "Open Maps" button in the popup
• Host permission for google.com/maps — to run the scraper on Google Maps pages
• Host permission for buildifyapp.in — to call the license key validation endpoint
Data sharing
I do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. Scraped lead data exists only on your device. License key validation calls are made directly from your browser to the endpoint and contain only the key itself.
Data retention and deletion
All data stored by Pinleads lives in your browser's local storage. You can delete it at any time by:
1. Clicking "Remove Pro" in the extension popup (removes your license key)
2. Clearing extension data via Chrome Settings → Extensions → Pinleads → Details → Clear data
3. Uninstalling the extension (removes all locally stored data immediately)
I have no access to your local data and cannot delete it on your behalf — but you can delete it entirely yourself in seconds.
Changes to this policy
If I make material changes to this privacy policy, I will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
